Few rock bands possess the creativity and inventiveness of the Detroit-based duo Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., starting with their humorously off-the-wall name!
Daniel Zott and Joshua Epstein have gotten a lot of attention since they issued their self-produced debut EP “Horse Power” in 2010, blending Beach Boys harmonies with synth-pop instrumentation to create something truly original. Before long the band signed to the prestigious Warner Bros. label, which released their first full-length album “It’s a Corporate World” a year later. Before long, DEJJ was performing before thousands of fans at the Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Festivals and appearing on late-night TV. In fact the band just performed on Conan O’Brien’s program within the last few weeks in support of their “Patterns” EP, released in April.
Dan and Josh are not only nice guys who make really cool music their own way, they are also big boosters of all things Detroit. Purveyors of high I.Q. dance music, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. returns to Bank of Ann Arbor’s Sonic Lunch this Thursday.
